Meditek to Unveil New Standard in Lithotomy Positioning at HealthAchieve 2017

Meditek, a leading provider of operating room products, is excited to be a part of the 2017 HA Conference (HealthAchieve) being held in Toronto, Ontario, November 6th – 7th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

This year’s HealthAchieve is special for Meditek as it serves as the backdrop to the unveiling of what is billed as the new standard in lithotomy positioning – the KYRA COMFORT™ Stirrups.

“For the last twenty years, Yellofins® stirrups were widely considered the best lithotomy-positioning device on the market. The design was simple, yet functional. It is a design that has not changed since its inception,” explains Brad Samuels, Marketing Manager at Meditek.

Just a few years ago, a few key ex-employees from Allen Medical decided to right all that was wrong with the Yellofins® design. Although the KYRA design is similar, they made a few key changes:

  • Made the boot bigger and deeper, adding 1/2“ padding all around
  • Made the boot flexible to more comfortably accommodate larger legs
  • Replaced the Velcro® straps with Secure-Lok™ straps
  • Eliminated all pinch points
  • Integrated clamps into the design

Meditek will have the KYRA COMFORT™ Stirrups on exhibit at booth #1234.

In addition to the Kyra Stirrups, Meditek will also have a QA4 Day Surgery Stretcher to display. The QA4 offers the transferability of a stretcher with the durability of a surgical table, making it an ideal solution for outpatient surgical services.

To round off the exhibit, Meditek will highlight two of its main programs:

The ReNew program restores surgical table, and other medical equipment, back to as-new condition. The quality meets or exceeds the OEM specifications.

The InSight program determines the current working condition of equipment, so hospitals can plan ahead and avoid spontaneous malfunctions, which put staff and patient at risk.

“We’re proud of what we have to show this year at HealthAchieve as it all represents what the industry is going through right now. Budgets are tighter than ever, and hospitals need equipment that does more but without the huge increase in cost,” concludes Brad.
